I swim here every Saturday for 2 hours in the highest squads class and it’s great! The coaches are very good and help you to improve your skills. There are many levels of swimming classes from ages 0-99. The staff are all well trained and friendly. There are two pools, one small, learn to swim pool and a larger, 5 lane, 25 metre pool. Both pools are heated. There are classes every day of the week and aside from swimming, there is a gym and squash courts in the same building. The parking lot is big, but can often get a bit jammed up with cars as it’s quite narrow, but there are always parking spots down the bottom. There are bathrooms and change rooms for both males and females and there are showers too. The staff at the front desk are very kind and easy to talk to, when arranging payment and classes.
Overall, I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s a great community and small, but welcoming fitness centre.
I would not suggest this place to anyone. My son went for swimming lessons and was yelled at twice by someone higher up than the instructor ,. This happened multiple times, and my son, who is only 4 years old, was crying. It was a situation that I believe any parent would find distressing. Due to the negative impact on small children's mental well-being, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
This has been a gem of a place. I did the parent and babies (I got in the pool) and now m child has moved on to the next class where I watch from the side. The best review I can give is to say that my child gets so excited every time we go - helps pack the swim bag and takes it off to the car. Staff have been supportive, kind, and knowledgeable. The make-up policy is so helpful, so you can take a holiday outside school holidays and have an extra lesson when they are back (on a day where the class is not full). They also have 2 pools a baby and a big, which is really helpful.
My son has been attending Coulter's learn to swim program for the past 4 years. They have lovely instructors, great front office staff to assist and are very helpful in case you need to reschedule! Clean and tidy pool with good changing rooms. Great for kids lessons. I reckon this is a 25m pool
Staff is so courteous.. best swimming centre in the area.. instructors are so professional, specially Kayla, Holeigh, Liam …
Thank you Coulter Swimming Northmead - my boys love it ! Credit goes to all the staff
Some good and some bad things about this center.
Good - Staff is quite friendly and helpful. The coach/teachers are good at what they do. They pay close attention to kids, find improvement areas for kids and improve on it. Overall good experience in terms of teaching.
Bad -
This swimming center has no area/lanes to practice after swimming class. We had earlier gone to Granville Swim Centre which has many areas/lanes to practice. But Coulter Swim center does not have it, which results in slowing down the kids progress or forcing them to go somewhere else for extra practice.
Other issue is that the center has recently changed the payment process. Payment at the counter now has hefty surcharge. Online payment also has charges/fess like card fee, data handling fee and so on. There is no way 'online or offline' to just pay the class fees without surcharges. This is ridiculous.
Even if the surcharges are low and not a big financial hit, as a principle, there should be way to pay just fees, without surcharges.
This is one of the best swimming schools in Sydney. The staff are polite and very helpful. The instructors are also kind you feel safe leaving your kids with them. The place can get really busy as this us a really popular among parents with young kids.
One of the best swimming centres. Trainers are good, and they really focus on kids’ training, rather than passing the time without putting any efforts. I have been to SYDNEY Olympic park Aquatic centre, but pulled out my daughter coz of their unsatisfactory performance. Trainers were unprofessional, and had no bonding with toddlers. Their level of approach was not worth it.
